BSNL to Launch 4G Services in 1,058 Villages of Indore Division: Bridging the Digital Divide

BSNL, the public sector telecom services provider, is set to bring 4G services to 1,058 villages in the Indore division. This announcement was made by Sanjeev Singhal, the general manager of BSNL's Indore division, during a recent meeting of the Telecom Advisory Committee. The Indian government has a goal to provide 4G facilities to villages where they are currently unavailable, and a total of 24,680 villages across the country have been identified to receive 4G services by December 2023.

During the meeting, MP Lalwani inquired about BSNL's plans for introducing 4G services in the city. Singhal explained that BSNL is working on establishing a fully indigenous core network, which will bring several benefits to the country. The tender for this network has already been approved, and a purchase order has been issued. It is expected that the 4G facility will be operational in the city by December.

This initiative by BSNL reflects the commitment of the Indian government to extend advanced telecommunications services to rural areas, bridging the digital divide and ensuring that residents in these villages have access to reliable and high-speed internet connectivity. By bringing 4G services to these villages, BSNL is taking a significant step towards fulfilling the government's vision of a digitally connected India.
